Bijoy Keyboard Layout (বিজয় কীবোর্ড পরিচিতি)

What is the Bijoy Keyboard?

Bijoy (বিজয়) is a Bengali keyboard layout developed by Mustafizur Rahman of Ananda Computers, Bangladesh. It became the de facto standard for Bengali typing in Bangladesh and is used across all Bangladesh government offices, courts, and educational institutions.

The Bijoy layout uses a phonetic approach with vowels and consonants distributed across the keyboard in a way familiar to typewriter users. It supports four layers — Unshifted, Shifted, Alt Right, and Alt Right + Shift — providing access to the full Bengali character set.

Where is Bijoy Used?

Bangladesh Government Offices: The Bijoy keyboard layout is the official standard for all Bangladesh central government departments, ministries, and district offices.
BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service): Bijoy is the required keyboard layout for BCS cadre typing tests administered by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
NTRCA & Teaching Service: Non-Government Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) exams require Bengali typing in the Bijoy layout.
Bangladesh Bank & PSUs: Bangladesh Bank, Sonali Bank, and other public sector enterprises use Bijoy for official Bengali document preparation.
Courts & Judiciary: District courts and the High Court Division of Bangladesh use Bijoy for all Bengali-language legal documentation.

Install Bijoy on Your Computer

Windows: Download and install the Bijoy Bayanno (বিজয় বায়ান্ন) keyboard driver from the official Ananda Computers website. Once installed, switch to Bijoy using the language bar or assigned shortcut key.
Linux: Bijoy key mappings can be configured using IBus or FCITX input framework with a custom keymap file.
macOS: Bijoy is not natively supported — use this virtual keyboard for practice on Mac.
